What to do in Kiel
During your stay in Kiel, stop at the edge of the Baltic Sea. When staying at our hotels near Kiellinie, skirting the fjord, you will admire one of the largest ports in Germany, famous throughout the world for its sailing competition: the Kieler Woche. On site, you can open the door to the old fish market, where the Museum of Navigation traces the city's maritime history. Moored nearby, three ships are open to visitors, including a replica of a cogge, a Hanseatic merchant ship from the Middle Ages. A stone's throw from the port, old Kiel is ideal for many walks. For example, you will go to Dänische Strasse, the busiest pedestrian street in the capital of Schleswig-Holstein. It's the perfect place to give in to the pleasure of shopping, before stopping on a welcoming terrace at the Alter Markt (Old Market Square), one of the must-sees of Kiel.
