What is there to do in Kazakhstan?

At the crossroads between Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Kazakhstan is a vast territory with many regions waiting to be explored. To really get back to the basics, head east. You will explore the peninsula Manguistaou, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, or the desert Ustyurt Plateau. Further north, take the time to visit Nur-Sultan, the capital, including the Bayterek Tower and the Nur-Astana Mosque, the largest in Central Asia. In the surroundings, the lakes, mountains and cliffs will delight nature lovers. For the city-dwellers, nothing like a stay in our hotel in Almaty, a city that you must see when you’re in Kazakhstan. Do not miss out and make sure you see its Ascension Cathedral, a baroque Russian Orthodox church built entirely of wood, as well as its various museums that will take you to the heart of Kazakh culture.

Unmissable events in Kazakhstan

No matter the time of year, there is always something to celebrate in Kazakhstan! In January, you will celebrate the day of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and mix with locals for a great moment of history. In March, you will attend Nowruz, the Eastern Spring Festival. If you visit Kazakhstan in early May, know that the first day of the month is dedicated to the commemoration of the Peoples' Unity. Workers are also celebrated, as they are in many other countries on this day. In September, the Muslim population gathers for Ras-el-Am (or Mouharram), the Muslim New Year. Once the festivities are over, you can end your day with a good meal composed of local specialties in our Golden Tulip restaurant. You can return to your hotel in Kazakhstan and taste kuirdak (roasted giblets with onions and peppers) and chelpek (fried dough).
