What to do in Nijkerk?
In our hotel in Nijkerk, you’ll benefit at once from a peaceful environment and from being close to numerous places of interest, from historic monuments to towns with a focus on art, and natural parks. An unmissable site in Nijkerk, the old Demis Roussos museum is now home to a permanent exhibit dedicated to Dutch pop music. In the picturesque village of Appel, a couple of miles from our hotel near Amersfoort, the De Hoop mill is a genuine nineteenth-century flour mill. It was recently restored and is still active; it grinds grain for animal consumption. Continuing your journey into the countryside, you’ll get to Nuldernauw and Nijkerkernauw lakes, which are adjacent to one another and are separated by a dam. Here, you’ll be able to go on a boat trip or go for a walk on the water’s edge, either on foot or by bike. In the evening, you’ll continue to make the most of the nature surrounding you, as delicious seasonal meals await you in our Golden Tulip restaurant…

After a hearty buffet breakfast served at our Golden Tulip restaurant, get on your bike or jump into your car and head to Kimbos Garderen. A lot of excitement, as well as some wonderful fresh air, await you in this adventure-climbing forest, some 12 miles from our establishment. Less than a half-hour drive away, Amersfoort is a town filled with art and history, with the river Eem running through it. While there, your day’s schedule will be filled with a walk alongside the canals, a visit to the house in which painter Mondrian was born, and a discovery of the houses built on the ramparts. Finally, about 9.3 miles south of Nijkerk, in the Oude ambachten & speelgoed museum (museum of toys and old vehicles) in Terschuur, you’ll be full of childlike glee as you travel back in time.
